DAY 1 - QUITO

As soon you arrive to Quito an airport representative will be waiting for you at your airplane gate; he will assist during the migration and customs procedures. After customs a representative of Link Experiences will be waiting for you at Quito’s airport in order to welcome and accompany you during the transfer from airport to hotel. Quito’s airport is located 40 minutes away from the main city.Day at leisure to rest.

DAY 2 - QUITO CITY TOUR

After breakfast, your local guide will pick you up from your hotel and take you to visit the Middle of the World Monument (Monumento a la Mitad del Mundo), located at 0o0’0” latitude. Take a picture with your feet on both hemispheres before touring the Intiñan Museum, where you’ll see various demonstrations of gravity and balance manifested in the equatorial zone. This is a really fun and interactive museum. Enjoy lunch at the top of the Pululahua Crater. After lunch, discover Quito’s beautiful Historic Center (Centro Histórico), named World Heritage Site by the UNESCO. Quito is a city rich in history, concealing the most fascinating legends, forbidden love stories, political insurrection plans, and much more. Learn about the different architecture styles in the Old Town, stroll through cobblestoned streets and meet artisans who’ve kept traditions alive for centuries. Take a private visit to La Compañia, San Francisco and Basilica churches and experience an exclusive tasting of the best chocolate in the world, Ecuadorian Chocolate!

DAY 3 - COTOPAXI

After breakfast, a local guide will pick up you at the hotel in order to hit the road to the South of the Andes cordillera. If the weather allows it, you will be able to spot the Cotopaxi volcano. This is a beautiful snow capped formation, one of the tallest active volcanoes in the world. The scenery is beautiful, and during Humboldt’s scientific visits he called it the “Avenue of the Volcanoes.” You will visit the Cotopaxi National Park and walk around the Limpiopungo lagoon. If conditions allow it, climb to the Jose F. Rivas refuge, located at 4,800 meters. It is a 45 minute-hike from the parking lot. Enjoy lunch at a local Hacienda. Afternoon at leisure at the hacienda. Ask the concierge about additional activities.

DAY 4 - BAÑOS – RIOBAMBA

After breakfast, your local guide will take you to the quaint little town of Baños, at the bottom of the Tungurahua volcano. After that, visit the avenue of the cascades until you reach the powerful “Pailón del Diablo.” Enjoy lunch while absorbing the beauty of the views of Baños at Café del Cielo. Continue your journey until you reach Riobamba. This small city is located right at the heart of Ecuador.

DAY 5 - RIOBAMBA – CUENCA

Wake up really early in the morning in order to catch the train that will take you to the Devil’s Nose. During the ride, grasp the colorful beauty of the ancestral Quinua crops: green, yellow, red, purple... Here you will be able to admire the Chimborazo volcano.Ecuador’s train took many years to build, especially because of its complicated topography. It connected the Coast with the Andes region, becoming an important icon of engineering at the time. The “Devil’s Nose” is a zig zag road in between the mountains. It’s a breathtaking journey! Have lunch in the small town of Ingapirca. Continue to the fascinating Ruins of Ingapirca, the largest Cañari-Inca ruins in Ecuador. Spend some time exploring before you continue your wonderful journey to Cuenca.

DAY 6 - CUENCA

After breakfast, your local guide will take you for a tour of the beautiful cobblestone city of Cuenca. Visit the Plaza San Francisco, surrounded by handcrafts shops where you can find the delicately embroidered skirts of the Cholas Cuencanas. Go to the flower market at the small plaza in front of the stunning El Carmen de la Asunción church. From here, head to the main square where you will find the blue-domed Cathedral, the Court of Justin, the Municipal Palace, the Governor’s Palace and the Church of El Sagrario. For lunch, visit one of Ecuador’s most acclaimed restaurants, for a real gastronomic experience. After lunch, drive up to the hill of Turi to admire the city and learn more about Cuenca’s geography and history. On the way back, visit the ceramic shop of Vega. Then, explore a museum and a workshop where Panama straw hats are made.

DAY 7 – CUENCA - QUITO

After breakfast, your guide will take you to the airport for your domestic flight to Quito.

Comfortable and light clothes, windbreaker jacket, bathing suit and comfortable walking shoes are convenient when visiting the Amazon, while warmer clothes are required for stays in Quito and the Andean mountain areas. Visitors should not wear sleeveless shirts, shorts, short skirts or skimpy clothing when visiting religious or official buildings. Sun protection, sun glasses, one small backpack, a hat and mosquito repellent can be very useful during your stay.
